For decades, successive NT governments have made the same mistakes over and over in child protection. Mr Gunner has promised his Government wont repeat those mistakes. Most had high hopes for former social worker Dale Wakefield in the role of Families Minister but so far she has failed to live up to those expectations. If he is serious about fixing the debacle that is the NTs child protection system, Mr Gunner needs to take on the portfolio himself.
