Land Resources of Auvergne Station A supplement to the Land Resources of the Victoria River District 73 11. Land Unit Descriptions Fifty land units describe the land resources on Auvergne. Most have been built using data collected between 2015 and 2017. Data collected in the 1998 vegetation survey and surveys on neighbouring properties, such as Amanbidji/Nagurunguru ALT and Newry, has also been utilised where appropriate. Some land units originate from the original VRD survey and describe areas that extend into Auvergne from surrounding properties. Data from the VRD survey is not as comprehensive as it for this survey therefore slight discrepancies may be apparent. Original VRD land unit descriptions have been designated with the suffix V and those that are specific to Auvergne have the suffix A. For example, 1aV: Basalt plateaux found in the Victoria River District and the descriptions have been generated using data collected throughout the district. 1gA: Sandstone plateaux on Auvergne and the descriptions have been built using site data for Auvergne only. Whilst it is similar to the original VRD land unit it is specific to Auvergne.
