52 SPORT FRIDAY MAY 11 2018 CAVE01Z01MA - V1 Wests and Seasons couldnt be separated in their last encounter. THEY could not be separated last time they met on the court and Seasons Complete Fencing and Wests Gillen Club will go head to head once again tomorrow afternoon. In the match of the season to date, Wests and Seasons produced a match to remember when they drew 41-41 in round three. The two clubs will renew AN Alice Springs netballer will once again be on the national stage later this year with Brooke Wilson selected in the 17 and Under National Under Age squad this week. Netball Australia selected a squad of 36 17 and under netballers for a national squad with Wilson making the grade along with fellow NT representative Bethany Williams. Former Alice Springs resident Gabby Coffey was also selected in the 19 and under national squad with the squads they get their first experience playing at an international level, playing against and England and New Zealand team. You have to be very disci Federal shooter Brooke Wilson has been selected in the 17 and under national netball squad. Picture: CHARLIE LOWSON Wilson earns a spot on netball national squad chosen at the conclusion of the National Netball Championships in April. Alice Springs high performance coach Deb Grey said the achievement is huge for Wilson, saying it is the highest honour a junior netballer can achieve. Brooke has been selected out of all the people at the national championships as a potential player to be on the national representative pathway, Grey said. Theres a squad picked for the 17s and the 19s and they are invited to a nationals training camp and that is where plined to do the work at home (to reach this level). Im really happy and proud of her achievements and that her hard work has paid off. Grey said that Wilsons determination off the court has helped her get to this stage, adding that her natural talents would have been what drew selectors to look at the shooter. Brooke for Alice Springs is a tall athlete and is probably the right height at a national level for a shooter, she said. Shes actually quite mobile and agile for a taller girl. If you are looking at com parable shooters, you would look at your Romelda Aikens or your Caitlin Bassetts. The other thing that Brooke does is that she does have a good defensive games and shes quite quick for a girl her height. Wilson will now attend a National Squad camp at the Netball Centre of Excellence in Canberra. The camp will be held from Monday October 1 through to Friday October 5 under the tutelage of Netball Centre of Excellence Head Coach and Selection Panel Chair Michelle Wilkins. ANTHONY GEPPA Wests and Seasons renew rivalry their rivalry tomorrow afternoon as they sit locked on seven competition points each. A win will move the victorious side to outright second position on the competition ladder with the possibility of moving into first spot, pending other results. Wests and Seasons will square off tomorrow afternoon from 1.30pm on court two. In the later fixture, netball fans will be treated to a grand final rematch with Federal Trusty Glass taking on Rovers from 3 oclock. Rovers have only played one match in seasons 2018, a comfortable win against Neata Glass Giants but will be tested to the limit against the top of the table Federal side. That clash will also take place on court two with Neata Glass Giants having this weekends bye in the KFC A Grade competition.
