The objective of the investigation was to test for the presence of PFAS in environmental media, and to provide an indication of the potential for PFAS to have migrated off-site via surface water. This was to assist Defence to meet its objective to facilitate the early identification of potential exposure risks to off-site users of groundwater for the purpose of prioritising any future investigations. This investigation is intended to be a snapshot of the potential off-site presence of PFAS only, and should be regarded as a preceding step to any future preliminary investigations that would be conducted in accordance with the approaches specified by the National Environmental Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure (ASC NEPM).,
