Description

This report provides details of a study supported by the National Estates Grant Program, concerning the distribution, habitat and status of two small mammals, the Kultarr Antechinomys laniger and the Northern Hopping Mouse Notomys aquilo, in the Top End of the Northern Territory. This report consists of two sections, a larger paper on the Northern Hopping Mouse and a smaller account of the search for the Kultarr, supplemented by a series of photographs depicting habitat for both species. Substantial information was collected on the Northern Hopping Mouse, and this survey clarified its status in no1th-eastern Arnhem Land. In contrast, the Kultarr was not recorded during this study.,
