RECOVERY AND WHEREVER POSSIBLE REPROCESSING, RECYCLING OR DISPOSAL OF OZONE-DEPLETING SUBSTANCES; * INTRODUCTION OF IMPROVED DESIGN AND OPERATING PROCEDURES TO REDUCE CFCs AND HALON EMISSIONS BY INDUSTRY; * PROGRAMS TO INCREASE INDUSTRY AWARENESS OF HOW SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES CAN BE IMPROVED; AND * PROGRAMS TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF WHAT WE CAN DO AS INDIVIDUALS TO REDUCE OUR USE OF CFCs AND HALONS. MR SPEAKER, I NOW TURN TO OTHER ACTION THE GOVERNMENT IS TAKING TO FURTHER PROTECT OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND CULTURAL HERITAGE. THE CONSERVATION COMMISSION IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON A CONSERVATION STRATEGY FOR THE TERRITORY WHICH WILL FOCUS ON: * THE INTEGRATION OF DEVELOPMENT AND CONSERVATION, * THE CONCEPT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. AND UTILISATION OF RESOURCES, AND * PRESERVATION OF THE TERRITORY'S GENETIC DIVERSITY AND ESSENTIAL ECOLOGICAL PROCESSES.
