e > Theatre Usage Priorities : Dr. McConnel also presented these guidelines to the Board. f ) Patient Care Review Committee Guidelines: The procedures for handling complaints/accolades were presented to the Board by the Convenor of the Patient Care Review Committee, Mrs. M. Shotton. The Committee will act on any letter of complaint or of appreciation. g) Mission Statement: An updated Mission Statement for Alice Springs Hospital was presented by Dr. Peter Bradford. h ) Quality Assurance: Two reports were presented to the Board. A nursing Quality Assurance report was presented by Sr. J. Philip, and guidelines for the proposed Quality Assurance Committee were presented by Dr. R. Lim. i) Strategic Planning: An updated paper was presented by Dr. Bradford. j ) Antenatal Information: The Departments leaflet has been withheld, because of concern expressed by the Board with the Department's policy of A.T.D.S. testing of ante-natal patients without adequate information given or informed consent being obtained. k ) Sexual Assault : A representative from the Board attended meetings called by the Department of Health and Community Services to discuss the Hospital Sexual Assault protocol, and the Police Department protocol. A Sexual Assault Counsellor was appointed later in the year under report. SIGNIFICANT EVENTS a ) Use of Facilities The hospital school was re-sited to the current children's Ward 5. The Child Health Unit was re-sited within the hospital grounds . The Communicable Diseases Unit moved to the old Dental Clinic building. The new Alcohol and Other Drug Dependency Services was set up In Wedge wing. Office space was provided for the extended Department's use.
