The focus for this conference was the formation of a National Consultative Committee on Discrimination in Employment and Occupation. This Office was also represented at the 8th National Equal Employment Opportunity Conference, which focussed on the theme "Assessing Equal Employment Opportunity Achievement" held in Adelaide in November 1986. Special Project At the beginning of 1987, the Office in consultation with the Department of the Chief Minister, gathered data on the membership of advisory councils, committees and statutory bodies in the Northern Territory. Information was gathered from 158 bodies. The Newsletter will be produced four times per year as a strategy for informing the community at large of activities related to Equal Opportunity at both the Territory and National level. Non Discriminatory Language Guidelines In keeping with Government policy on the use of non discriminatory language in official government documents, the Office drafted a set of Guidelines for use by Departments and Prescribed Authorities.
