Were you given any other information other than that?---No, it was only the written mock-up briefing. And you then prepared a written response, is that what happened?---That's correct. Now, there doesn't appear to be a statement, so far as I can see, in that document about a specific amount of $500,000? --- That was a verbal addition. So, in other words, 'Here, Peter, is what we want you to write about and the sum that w eve got in mind is $500,000.' Now, in the ordinary course of things, if we look at the structure of this memorandum, i ts headed, of course, 'Interview exercise only1. It's from 'DSOl Director', I take it in your situation, as matters transpired, that would be Mr Dodson?---Yes. ~ And DS02, that would be yourself if you subsequently were to get the position?---Yes. Now, following this meeting, were you telephonedby Mr Dodson on about 2 December 1992?---Yes, I was.
