The Centralian Advocate newspaper, which traditionally produces a wrap-around leading up to the event, this year received double the number of advertisements for the feature. Other Masters events -- including organisers from the Australian Masters in Newcastle and the World Masters scheduled for Melbourne in 2002 -- openly declared that Alice Springs sets the benchmark for Masters events throughout Australia.
