BACKGROUND An election will be held in the NT on Saturday October 27th. It will be preceded by a three week campaign. The election will be a surprise*. It will be called on the basis of the Labor Party being forced to disagree with the ruling Country Liberal Party on party philosophy lines. CLP leader, Marshall Perron, will seek a mandate from the people to take a Territory view to the forthcoming Premiers Conference. 2.
