P U R P O S E O F T H I S R E P O R T The Department of Arts and Museums has a commitment to enrich the lifestyle of all Territorians through the nurturing of a diverse cultural environment which serves to enlighten, inspire and stimulate the people of the Northern Territory. This report is prepared in accordance with Section 28 of the Public Sector Employment and Management A ct and Section 10 of the Financial Management A ct. It is a public document and provides Parliament with an account of the Departments performance against its approved budget programs for the financial year ending 30 June 2000. It is an honest evaluation of the Departments achievements during its third year of operation. Additionally, the report is an important source of information for the Northern Territory arts and cultural community, the general public, and our professional and Government colleagues. Further information about Department programs, events and activities can be found at our web site, www.nt.gov.au/dam or by contacting Executive Support on (08) 8999 8111. http://www.nt.gov.au/dam
