DBCYA e-news January 2017 DBCYA e-news January 2017.htm[26/03/2018 1:39:24 PM] A new musical duo to Dinah, Cheek to Cheek will share their smooth groove for social visitors and yacht race #5 participants. IMMEDIATE STIMULUS GRANT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR DBCYA TO UPGRADE FACILITIES The Northern Territory Government has kindly released $10 million in grant funding for NT not-for-profits to do improvements around their club, on the proviso they use local tradies and they do it quick!. Each Association has access to $100K, and a further $100K if the club provides an equal co-contribution, unless the fund pool runs out prior. There must be a 50% labour component. The Management Committee has selected these initial projects to seek quotes for: Project #1 - Careening Poles Improvements - strengthen the corroding metal careening poles - install power and water facilities to each pole - replace the rotting wooden pillars on pole #5 (wharf) with poly pylons from top to bottom Project #2 - Extend the bar lawn wall overlooking the channel - utilise the existing land fill and blocks that need to be moved from Lot 7303 to create more real estate for the Club - provide amenities - fencing, landscaping, lawn, lighting to new area This is on the proviso we are granted Development Permits to use the stockpile for this extension - our applications will be considered by the DCA in late January. If not feasible the Committee will look towards other grant funding opportunities. Project #3 - Concrete the side garden area in the bar - to remove existing concrete slab and tile trip hazards, cover unsightly dirt patch and increase seating capacity DBCYA is seeking quotes from competent trades persons for the concreting of the side bar garden area - relevant Club members are encouraged to speak to Wendy our GM or Colin Freeman from the Committee for further information. DBCYA wishes to advise its members that we were not successful in obtaining Community Benefit grant funds to replace a large portion of our furniture and are currently exploring other options.
