DBCYA e-news January 2017 DBCYA e-news January 2017.htm[26/03/2018 1:39:24 PM] 2017 DARWIN TO AMBON YACHT RACE - SAT 05 AUG Ask any sailor whose been - the annual Darwin to Ambon Yacht Race should be a must on your annual calendar. Don't leave your preparations too late Visit http://www.darwinambonrace.com.au/ to View the Notice of Race, Lodge an Expression of Interest, Sign up for the regular newsletter and Find out other useful information Entries will be accepted from March. Members may have noticed another event called the 'New Darwin to Ambon Yacht Race and Rally' being advertised on another website, with a planned start date one week before ours. This race appears to be organised by a group of private persons, in competition with our established race. For many years your Committee has worked hard to re-establish this iconic international event to the high safety standards expected of Australian off-shore sailing for all sailors to enjoy. Whilst DBCYA is concerned that a second race may damage the long-term integrity of the Darwin to Ambon race for the sailing community, we continue to organise a great 2017 event with the full support of the relevant authorities and we hope you will continue to show support for your Club's established race.
