2. require that all teachers in the N.T. Education Department receive inservice training in: a) drug/alcohol education within a general framework of health and lifestyle; b) the recognition, management and referral of children of alcohol dependent parents; 3. to require that the Northern Territory University provide an award program which will adequately equip health, education, and allied professionals with the skills to recognise, manage and/or refer clients with alcohol related problems. TREATMENT SERVICES That the N.T. Government be requested to -fund: 1 . a central assessment/referra 1 agency; 2 . an alcohol rehabilitation program for young offenders; 3. an alcohol rehabilitation program in Darwin gaol; 4. a family treatment program for spouses/partners of alcohol dependents; 5. an after care program for "graduates" of residential alcohol rehabilitation programs. RE8EARCH That the N.T. Government be requested to continue the funding of research facilities in the Northern Territory. 10
