P ro s ti tu tio n R e g u la tio n A c t 1 9 9 2 The Prostitution Regulation A ct com m enced in 1992. It form alises and provides a legislative b asis for th e p ro stitu tio n in dustry , in o rder to stop in filtration of th e in d u s try by organised crim e an d to red u ce exploitation w ith in the industry . The Act specifically legislates to p ro tec t m inors. C la ss if ic a tio n o f P u b lic a tio n s a n d F ilm s A m en d m e n t A c t 1 9 9 2 T his Act com m enced operation on 1 J a n u a ry 1993. It am en d s the p rincipal a c t by in serting a new p a r t (Part IV A) w hich p roh ib its the p roduction or copying of films w hich have a n X classification. C rim in a l C ode A m en d m e n t A c t (No. 3) 1 9 9 2 T his Act com m enced operation on 22 D ecem ber 1992. It am ends the C rim inal Code by repealing and replacing section 137 of th e Code w hich concerns th e offence of child pornography. The new section m akes it a crim e to produce, copy, cause to be produced or copied, partic ipa te in the p roduction or copying of, or to offer, advertise for sale or d istribu tion , child pornography. An offender could be im prisoned for ten years. The law also in se rts a new section 137A
