F u rth e r dom estic violence reform s are being considered. Northern Territory Women's Fellowship Award The 1992-93 N orthern Territory W om en's Fellowship w as aw arded to two D arw in lawyers. The Fellowship enabled them to travel in te rs ta te an d to th e United S ta tes to s tu d y com parative law s and delivery of services w ith regard to violence again st wom en. T heir repo rt will include recom m endations for a m ore in tegrated approach to th e problem of violence ag a in st w om en in the Territory. Yirrkala Family Violence Working Party The W orking Party, com prising rep resen ta tives from Y irrkala D ham bul C om m unity, L aynhapuy H om elands R esource C entre an d Y irrkala and G um atj A ssociation, h a s been funded u n d e r the S upported A ccom m odation A ssistance Program (SAAP) to resea rch violence in the com m unity and se t u p educational program s th rough schools an d the m edia. It also will tria l a counselling service, provide su p p o rt for w om en escap ing violence an d p repare and d is tribu te inform ation booklets ab o u t violence. Living with Alcohol Program It is estim ated th a t alcohol is related to fifty per cen t of inc iden ts of dom estic violence A ustra lia wide and even higher in the N orthern T erritory.
