Specific cam paigns have been developed for young people, for exam ple: the H ow will you fe e l tomorrow? cam paign focused on problem s assoc ia ted w ith you th binge drinking, su c h a s violence a n d ill-considered sexual activity. The nex t m ajor cam paign, The last thing you need is a d rink , will focus on su p p o rtin g a ttitu d e s an d environm ents w hich encourage ab stin en ce in specific s itu a tio n s, for exam ple w om en who are p reg n an t or w ish to becom e p regnan t. T his cam paign also will ad d re ss alcohol an d violence. Treatm ent and Rehabilitation A n u m b er of alcohol trea tm en t and care services su c h a s sobering-up sh e lte rs , residen tia l and non-residen tia l trea tm en t p rogram s an d services for fam ilies of people w ith alcohol problem s are being suppo rted . Agencies have identified tra in ing as an u rg en t need. A n u m b er of co u rses have been developed and personnel em ployed to upg rade the sk ills of alcohol w orkers across the Territory. R esearch and Evaluation R esearch is carried ou t in the com m unity on a regu lar b a s is to identify d rink ing p a tte rn s , problem s, knowledge and percep tions a b o u t alcohol. T his re sea rch is analysed to enable the identification of the needs of p a rticu la r sections of the com m unity, includ ing wom en. N a tio n a l D rug S tr a te g y The N ational D rug S trategy (NDS) a im s to m inim ise the harm fu l effects of d ru g s on A ustra lian society. NDS is jo in tly funded by the Com m onw ealth , S ta te and Territory governm ents to prom ote stra teg ies in the a re a s of education , trea tm en t, rehab ilita tion , re sea rch an d law enforcem ent.
