N a tio n a l P la n o f A c tio n f o r W om en in TAFE The N ational P lan of Action for W om en in TAFE w as lau n ch ed by the C om m onw ealth D epartm en t of Em ploym ent, E ducation an d T rain ing in 1991. In response to th is report, in M arch 1992 the N orthern T erritory developed an d launched the N orthern Territory s tra tegy for im plem enta tion of the N ational Plan of Action for W omen in TAFE. The D ep artm en t of Em ploym ent, E duca tion and T rain ing provided fund ing for a n u m b er of na tional projects. The N orthern T erritory received fund ing for two projects w hich were com pleted an d lau n ch ed in D arw in in Ju ly 1993. These were: The Aboriginal W om ens Training N eeds Project T his p ro ject involved the identification an d a sse ssm e n t of existing p ub lished an d u n p u b lish ed resea rch from all s ta te s an d territo ries, on th e educa tion an d tra in ing needs of Aboriginal wom en.
