The P a lm erston In terchange Service also provides a c a r to b u s tran sfe r facility for p a ssen g ers and a new b u s stop ad jacen t to th e Palm erston Civic C entre to enable b e tte r access to the public library. A lic e S p r in g s B u s S erv ice A con trac ted public b u s service com m enced in Alice Springs in 1989. The service is the resu lt of a jo in t N orthern T erritory G overnm ent and Alice Springs Town Council agreem ent w here the G overnm ent provides th e opera ting subsid ies and the C ouncil provides rou te in fra s tru c tu re . As a re su lt of the N orthern Territory G overnm ent's review of b u s services, th ree school b u s rou tes were in teg rated into the Alice Springs B us Service system in 1992.
