Table 15.1 highlights the p ercen tag e o f G SP a ttrib u tab le to the public sector in each State and Territory as well as nationally. The current level o f public sector em ploym ent in the Territory is lower than in 1984, in stark c o n tr a s t to th e le v e l o f p r iv a te s e c to r employment which rose by approximately 43% over the same period.
