1992 Sept Research and Development Bulletin No. 234 Science and Technology section of the Canadian Governments Supply and Services Dept publishes "Better Blood Sterilization With Ozone." "Under a $303,943 contract with the Surgeon Generals Branch of Department of National Defence [DND] Headquarters, researchers from the National Reference Laboratory at the CRCS are investigating two ozone sterilization technologies to confirm their reported efficacy in deactivating a variety of potential viral contaminants in blood, including HIV-1 and hepatitis... In Europe an estimated 350,000 people were treated with ozone between 1980 and 1985. The University of Bonn reviewed these cases and reported virtually no side effects of ozone therapy when properly administered... The products of this research have worldwide applications, says DNDs Capt. Shannon. In the right concentration, ozone sounds almost too good to be true. W ere trying not to be overly enthusiastic, but the data so far is very compelling." 1992 Oct Investor C arl Vollmer is convinced by doctor friends that ozone will work on AIDS, as was proven in a study in Puerto Rico. He decides on a two part course of action. First, prove to everyone it works by setting up free clinical trials in Mexico, and then build ozone clinics everywhere and help a lot of people and make a lot of money - "Just like the hospitals are doing." He phones the Manhattan Center For Living (a large AIDS support organization) looking for AIDS patients to send to Mexico and treat for free "to first prove the therapy works." Being unschooled in the ways of current delicate medical politics, he also puts up posters in NY offering "HIV positive to negative in thirty days." He stated, "Since I dont know anyone with AIDS myself, and dont know how else to find them." Because he never heard of ozone, The organizations director he contacts secretly records the conversation and has the Consumer Affairs Director arrest him for promoting quack cures and bilking dying AIDS patients. Mr. Vollmer immediately ends up in New York TV and print news alleging he was taking the last money many dying AIDS patients had. In the media feeding frenzy, no one noticed that Mr. Vollmer had never asked for or received any money. He was naively trying to give the treatment away in exchange for clinical data, and eventually to make a profit, just like every hospital on the planet does. After his arrest, (New York City has a law prohibiting advertising improving1 the immune systems of AIDS patients) in his defense Mr. Vollmer submits over a two foot high pile of 54 U.S. medical references in support of ozone therapy to the district attorney. The case was eventually dropped, but please see the Jan 9 & 13th, 1993 references later in this chronology. 1992 Nov D r. Michael Ingraham in his Bahamian clinic, using ozone equipment reports continuing studies are "very hopeful." 1992 Nov E d M cCabe has been on over 850 radio, TV and speaking platform s educating people about ozone. He spends a month in New Zealand and Australia lecturing, doing radio interviews, and educating over 250 doctors about ozone. More than 5 doctors arid 25 people in Australia start doing clinical trials or personal treatment with it. 28
