DEMONSTRATIONS AND PROVIDE PILOT MARKETS WILL RELATE DIRECTLY TO THEIR ATTRACTIVENESS AS CONTRACTORS. AN OFFICE OF ACTIVITIES IMPLEMENTED JOINTLY (AIJ) WAS RECENTLY ESTABLISHED IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY INDUSTRIES AND ENVIRONMENT BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. IT IS SEEKING AN INTERNATIONALLY SIGNIFICANT RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT THAT IT CAN SPONSOR FOR THE AIJ PROGRAM AND HAS APPROACHED ACRE FOR ADVICE. ACRE SUGGESTED THAT THE FLORES POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM MANAGEMENT CONCEPT BEING DEVELOPED BY THE AUTHORITY AND THE INDONESIAN UTILITY PERUSAHAAN LISTERIK NEGARA (PLN) BECOME THE FIRST AIJ RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECT. THE SUGGESTION RECEIVED STRONG SUPPORT FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE AUTHORITY HAS CONTACTED PLN TO RESUME NEGOTIATIONS AIMED AT MAKING THIS RELATIONSHIP A PRODUCTIVE ONE. THE POTENTIAL OF THIS PROJECT, IF IT PROCEEDS, IS VERY EXCITING. 15
