I THIS IS CLEARLY DEMONSTRATED BY THE NTU INVOLVEMENT IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COUNCIL, WHICH IS CHARGED WITH COORDINATING RESEARCH IN THE TERRITORY AND DEVELOPING STRATEGIES FOR THE FUTURE. I AM INFORMED THAT THE UNIVERSITY HAS ALSO COMMITTED ITSELF TO CONTRIBUTING TO THE NORTHERN TERRITORY CENTRE FOR BUSINESS INNOVATION. MR SPEAKER, AS A WAY OF ENSURING THAT THE UNIVERSITY'S RESOURCES ARE EFFICIENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY MANAGED, THE UNIVERSITY HAS IDENTIFIED SIX MAIN AREAS OF RESEARCH STRENGTH IN WHICH THERE IS SOME CONCENTRATION OF FUNDING: 22
