FURTHER, MR SPEAKER, A NEW UNIT, THE EQUITY AND STUDENT ACCESS UNIT, WILL BE FORMED FROM THE FORMER STUDENT SERVICES AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY UNIT. THIS UNIT, MR SPEAKER, WILL AIM TO PROVIDE ADVICE ON STAFF AND STUDENTS' RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES, ACT AS AN EQUITY AND SYSTEM CHANGE AGENCY AT THE MACRO AND MICRO LEVEL, AND FACILITATE THE INTEGRATION OF EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ISSUES INTO THE UNIVERSITY'S STRATEGIC AND CORPORATE PLANNING PROCESSES. MR SPEAKER, I AM SATISFIED THAT AS A RESULT OF THE STRUCTURAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES, THE UNIVERSITY IS IN A BETTER POSITION BOTH TO RESPOND TO INCREASING COMPETITION AS WELL AS TO WITHSTAND THE IMPACT OF FURTHER SUDDEN CHANGES IN ITS FUNDING. 42
