past Vice President of the Darwin Region Tourism Association and has been a Member of the Meetings attended in the year: 6 M r Darryl Pearce (Term E xpires 2 1 /1 1 /9 6 ) Darryl was the Director of the Northern Land Council from 1993 to 1995. Darryl has an extensive background in the development of Aboriginal people and their needs and aspirations and actively represents their interests on a number of Committees and Boards throughout the Territory. He has twelve years of private sector commercial/industrial accounting experience followed by over twenty years tertiary teaching experience in both Australia and England. Currently, he is serving on both the University Council and Academic Board. Since 1988, he has been a member of the Darwin Group Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. He has served continuously since 1984 on the Northern Territory Branch Council of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants. His term as Branch President commenced in April, 1996. He and his wife Patricia, are owners and directors of Travel North Pty Ltd, which provides accommodation and touring in the Katherine Region, including Katherine Gorge and Mataranka. He was the Chairman of the Katherine Region Tourist Association for ten years and is the founding Chairman of the Northern Territory Tourist Industry Association. Werner was previously a Northern Territory Tourist Commission Board Commissioner between 1992 to 1994. Meetings attended in the year: 4 M anaging D irector - M r S tephen Gregg Stephen was appointed Managing Director in February 1995, formerly Director Marketing of the Queensland Tourist and Travel Corporation. Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge to the Commission from his extensive background in the tourism industry both within Australia and overseas where he was actively involved in destinational marketing, co-operative marketing and research based marketing.
