ANNUAL REPORT 1994-95 Function 4 Enhance effectiveness and efficiency of Government activities by developing and implementing planning and evaluation strategies. Key Strategies In conjunction with other relevant Central Agencies, develop service wide program evaluation principles and guidelines. Evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness of Government programs. Assist Agencies in dealing with changing needs within defined Government policy and approved budgets. Undertake internal audit reviews on behalf of Agencies as required. Function 5 Provide administrative support to Executive Council, Cabinet and Government Key Strategies Provide effective secretariat and administrative support to the Executive Council, Cabinet the Office of the Chief Minister and the Department. Provide a high quality liaison service between Parliament and Agencies. Provide general support services covering the range of corporate functions including finance and budgets, staff selection and development and office services. Function 6 Establish and maintain effective and appropriate relations with other governments and the community. Key Strategies National/International Matters Advise Government on its relations with other governments and bodies. Develop policy strategies which promote and protect the Territorys interests. Assist Government in provision of ceremonial services and official hospitality. Territory Matters Advise Government on its dealings with the Territory community. Provide services direcdy to the community, where appropriate. 14
