i ANNUAL REPORT 1994-95 CABINET OFFICE OVERVIEW Cabinet Office provides secretariat services to Cabinet, Executive Council and the Coordination Committee. It also provides a correspondence service between the Office of the Chief Minister and the Department and a Parliamentary liaison service between the Parliament, Ministers Offices and Government Agencies. The Cabinet Office was involved in the preparation of formal documentation for the resignation of the former Chief Minister and the appointment and swearing-in of the First Stone Ministry. The Cabinet Office initiated the development of a service-wide Government Commitments database to provide a comprehensive, accurate and current program status reporting service to Government During the year Cabinet met on SI occasions, 42 in Darwin, and 9 at places outside of Darwin including Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Howard Springs, Tipperary Station and Port Keats. Executive Council convened on 17 occasions and considered 122 submissions. PROGRAMS AND PERFORMANCE Ensure that the essential processes of Government, including Cabinet and Executive Council, operate effectively and efficiently. Statistical details of the Ministerial correspondence and Cabinet Submissions processed are listed on the next page. Maintenance o f information base on details of members of statutory bodies. Ongoing commitment Continuation as required of service-wide training seminars on the processes and procedures involved with Cabinet, Executive Council and Parliament. Training was conducted in Darwin and Alice Springs as follows: Subject Presented to Preparing for the Legislative Assembly. Preparation of Ministerials, Cabinet Submissions etc. Ministerial Officers.
