ANNUAL REPORT 1994-95 PROTOCOL AND PUBLIC RELATIONS OVERVIEW Protocol and Public Relations main role is to support the Northern Territory Government in observance of appropriate protocol in its dealings with official visitors from other parts of Australia and the world. Protocol and Public Relations was responsible for the protocol arrangements associated with the visit to Darwin by Heads of delegations representing eight countries who participated in Trade Expo NT 1995. The Republic of Indonesia was the largest representative having seven provinces represented at the Expo. Also undertaken were Protocol Ceremonial and Media Liaison arrangements associated with the: Territory Day 16th Anniversary of Self-Government The Official Opening of Parliament House by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia The Council of Australian Governments Meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of Australia Official Visit by the President of die Czech Republic Visit by the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Malaysia 1995 Arafura Sports Festival NT Expo 95 The re-enactment of the Inaugural flight from London through Darwin to Sydney of the Vicker's Vimmy Bi-Plane PROGRAMS AND PERFORMANCE Continue a high standard of protocol and public relations services to the Northern Territory Government. Coordinated the arrangements for 36 official visits to the Northern Territory of which 25 were of diplomatic status. Arranged 63 receptions and 52 official morning and afternoon teas on behalf of the Government. 36
