Menzies School of Health Research 2003 Annual Report | Infectious Diseases Division | 7 infectious diseases division he Infectious Diseases Division comprises five research programs investigating health issues important for our region. Studies are targeted at improving prevention and treatment of specific illnesses, generally through seeking a better understanding of the underlying disease processes. Epidemiology, clinical observations and basic laboratory work are involved, with evidence-based approaches undertaken when possible. The emphasis for the division is on collaboration with local health colleagues and experts outside the Northern Territory, in addition to cooperation between disciplines and across professional and cultural boundaries.
