5 inquiry means an inquiry held in accordance with Part 6, Division 4. The purpose of this definition is to clarify the meaning of the term used consistently throughout Part 6. inquiry committee means a committee appointed under section 60. This is a new and simplified term developed during the drafting process which replaces the term committee or committee of inquiry used throughout Part 6 of the current Act. interim certificate of registration means a certificate issued under section 34. The purpose of this definition is to clarify the meaning of the term used in Parts 4 and 7 of the current Act. investigation panel means a panel appointed under section 55. This is a new term developed during the drafting process and is consistent with the provisions in sections 56 of the current Act. investigator means the person or persons appointed by the Board under section 55(1) to conduct a preliminary investigation, and includes the Director or an investigation panel. This is a new and simplified term developed during the drafting process as the use of simplified terms is considered preferable. preliminary investigation means an investigation held in accordance with Part 6, Division 3. The purpose of this definition is to clarify the meaning of the term used consistently throughout Part 6, Division 2 of the current Act. prescribed means prescribed by regulation. The purpose of this definition is to clarify the meaning of the term used consistently throughout the Act. provisional registration means provisional registration as a teacher granted under subsection 36(2). This is a new term necessitated by the new provisions, and distinguishes a teacher with provisional registration from a teacher with full registration.
