LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS' SUPERANNUATION AMENDMENT BILL 1992 (Serial 129); and SUPERANNUATION AMENDMENT BILL 1992 (Serial 130): The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the question - That the Bills be now read a second time - Debate resumed. Question - put and passed. Bills read a second time. Leave granted for a motion for the third readings of the Bills to be moved forthwith. On the motion of the Treasurer (Mr Coulter) the Bills were read a third time and passed to be proposed laws. 8. CRIMES (FORFEITURE OF PROCEEDS) AMENDMENT BILL 1992 (Serial 127): The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the question - That the Bill be now read a second time - Debate resumed. Question - put and passed. Bill read a second time. Leave granted for a motion for the third reading of the Bill to be moved forthwith. On the motion of the Attorney-General (Mr Manzie) the Bill was read a third time and passed to be a proposed law. 9. FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION AND AUDIT AMENDMENT BILL 1992 (Serial 135): The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the question - That the Bill be now read a second time - Debate resumed. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Ede) moved the following amendment Omit all words after "That" and insert in their stead: "the Bill be withdrawn and redrafted to provide solely for the removal of mandatory retirement age for the Northern Territory Auditor-General, but not for the extension of the powers of investment for the Northern Territory Treasurer". The Treasurer (Mr Coulter) moved - That the question be now put - put and passed. Question - That the amendment be agreed to - put and negatived. Debate continued. Question - put and passed. Bill read a second time. The Assembly, according to Order, resolved itself into Committee of the Whole for the consideration of the Bill. In the Committee (Chairman - Mr Poole) Bill, by leave, taken as a whole. On the motion of the Treasurer (Mr Coulter) the following new clause was added to the Bill, after debate: "7. DEFINITION OF 'BODY' "Section 69(1) of the Principal Act is amended (a) by omitting '; and' from paragraph (b) of the definition of 'body' and substituting 366
