APPENDIX C - Documents incorporated 18 June 1998. Paper No 6 HomeShare Tenant Shared Equity Scheme: In the 11 months to May 1998, 141 tenants had bought their houses through this scheme. The value o f houses sold has been $ 16.663m. Of these, 82 have been in the Darwin region, 53 in Alice Springs, 5 in Katherine and one in the Barkly region. The gross weekly family income distribution o f applicants is: $300-$399 - 2; $400-5499 - 2; $500-$599 - 8; $600-$699 - 18; $700-$799 - 16; $800-$899 - 17; $900- $999 - 16; $ 1000-$ 1199 - 29; $1200-$1499 - 25; $1500-$1999 - 7; Over $2000 - 1. There have been an additional 19 sales from tenants sourcing private finance for a total value o f $2.390m. HomeNorth has paid $285,000 in stamp duty on behalf o f tenants in order to help them buy their home under the scheme. HomeStart Private Shared Equity Scheme: In the 11 months to May 1998, 170 households had purchased through the scheme. The amount o f funds advanced has been $19.218m. Of the houses sold, 75 have been in Alice Springs, 90 in the Darwin region, 2 in Katherine and 3 in the Barkly region. The gross weekly family income distribution o f applicants is: $300-$399 - 18; $400-$499 - 31; $500-$599 - 52; $600 -$699 - 69. EarlyStart Deposit Assistance Grant: A total o f 348 households have received grants o f up to $3,000 to help them to buy their own home. Assistance in the 11 months to May totalled $604,000. The schemes provide assistance for those earning a gross weekly income between $300 and $ 1,000. The number o f households assisted by regions is: Darwin - 228; Barkly - 4; Katherine - 7; Alice Springs - 109. Assist Interest Subsidy: A total of 54 households earning a gross weekly income between $700 and $1,000 and borrowing from a private financial institution have been assisted this year. The total level o f assistance provided in the 11 months to May, including those recipients from previous years, is $73,000. The number of new recipients by location is: Darwin - 43; Alice Springs -11. Other: The Lending Business Division has provided a further $3.256m by way of the first home buyers stamp duty concession to help people buy their first homes in the Territory. Occupation details for households assisted through the schemes are not recorded. A client satisfaction survey is under preparation and will be sent to recipients o f assistance by the end o f June 1998. 1
