Correspondence In:i) Nightcliff Newsletter ii) Remittance advise from NT Government for $1200.00 for Spectacular Correspondence out: i)Thank you to Jenny Ward- Sun Newspapers for article promoting Spectacular and Club in general. ii) Holtze Correctional Centre for help given by prisoners in helping set up Spectacular. Business arising from Correspondence: None Treasurers Report:i) Presented by Sue Smith Motion: That the Treasurers Report be accepted. Proposed: Helen Courtman Seconded: Vicki Buck Business Arising from Treasurers Report: None New membership:Ted Cross and Barbara Cox General Business:A. Royal Darwin Show: i) Show to be held 23 rd -25 th July. Display to be done on Wednesday 22 nd June. ii) Theme this year is Soil Where Food Begins so if anyone has suggestions on how we could in corporate that into our display it would be appreciated. One idea was that we could cover boxes in glue and then different soils as props for the orchids. iii) General orchid entries in show are non-existent. Some confusion as to whether there was still money available for members entry fees. Sarah Henderson said to her knowledge it had not run out as yet. B. Asked that it be noted that the ladies on the Banana Frecklestand had donated $50.00 to the club. C. Ideas for Community groups/ Activities that the Club could donate to. Suggestions were: i) Library books on orchids to a public Library, ii) Girraween Primary School Fair for raffles iii) Humpty Doo Primary School 35 th Gala Ball- raffle donation. Proposed: Barbara Doukas Seconded: Neil Smith Motion: That $200.00 be donated to Humpty Doo Primary School 35 th Gala Ball After discussion the motion was voted on and carried. D. Visit to Botanic Gardens for Picnic and Look Around: Anthony was happy for us to have it any Sunday in June. It was decided that we hold it on Sunday 28 th June at 2pm.
