3.7 Hospital Inspections and Presentations Hospital Inspections Presentations to the Board 18 Ju ly 2011 RDH: Lets Talk Health Presented by Dr Namiko Kobayashi, Dr Dev Tilakaratne The Board has requested a progress report for the September meeting. Aboriginal Health Centre of Excellence Presented by Doctor Barbara Bauert Colin McDonald to raise the issue of funding for the Aboriginal Centre for Excellence with the Ministers staff. Dr Bauert to send a copy of DRAFT proposal to Annette Mashford to distribute to RDH Board members with permission from Dr Nari Brown. Agenda September meeting. Colin McDonald to DRAFT a letter to the Chief Minister and the Minister for Health. 8 August 2011 Infrastructure upgrades, carbon emission and waste disposal at the Royal Darwin Hospital. Presented by Adam Walding, Campus Development and Facilities Management Manager. RDH Board to tour after works have been completed. 12 September 2011 Surgery issues relevant to standards at Royal Darwin Hospital Presented by Mr David Gawler, Head of General Surgery Royal Darwin Hospital, Mr Janak Mehta, Orthopaedic Consultant Royal Darwin Hospital and Mr John Tracey, Consultant Surgeon Royal Darwin Hospital. The doctors expressed the following concerns: Appropriate office space and secretarial support; Surgical involvement in running the institution; Excellence of quality of care; Efficient use of available resources; Elective and emergency theatre lists, Royal Darwin Hospital Board 2011/2012 Annual Report Page 14 of 29
