The RDH Annual Report 2011/2012 will be collated by 30 June 2012 by the Chair and Deputy Chair and sent to the Minister of Health. Tabled - Discussion Papers - Hospital Network Governing Council Operating Guidelines - and asked for feedback from RDH Board Members. The Chair thanked Ms Bridges for her presentation. Presentation - Health & Community Services Complaints Commission. Presenter: Ms Lisa Coffey, Commissioner, Health & Community Services Complaints. The role of the Commissioner of Health & Community Services Complaints is to take all complaints on Health Services in the Northern Territory for the Private and Public Sectors. Three Major Points 1 To assist parties to resolve, 2 Partner in the quality improvement process, 3 Promotion of the rights of users. Tabled - Briefing Papers - Code of Health and Community Rights and Responsibilities pamphlet. Tabled - Briefing Papers - Health & Community Services Complaints Commission Thirteenth Annual Report 2010/11. The Chair thanked Ms Coffey for her presentation and assured the continued openness to the office of the Complaints Commission from RDH. 3.8 Education and Research The RDH Board has for some years demonstrated its commitment to ongoing education and research pursuits. This has been well demonstrated by the success of both the Trevor Taylor and Anne Arthur Awards, in medicine and in Nursing respectively. The standard of submission has been outstanding, and the commitment of staff most rewarding. The Board expresses its appreciation to Mr Janak Mehta and the organises of the Trevor Taylor Prize and to Mrs Jo Seiler and the organises of the Anne Arthur Award for their contribution to the life of Royal Darwin Hospital. Education and research at the hospital leads to better efficiencies and higher standards in the delivery of patient centred care. I Ipfepgll
