Through her family, she has had a close connection with it all her life and has many fond memories of the event. I love it all. It is such a big event for the town, Ms Schembri said. It is Ms Schembris second year as an Asbuild Tatts Finke Desert Race Grid Ambassador. The title has been changed to be more reflective of the role the selected young women play in the event. Duties this Finke include working on the competitor relations office throughout the weekend, assisting with competitor sign on/off and general duties around race control to assist timing, Finke Desert Race Club secretary Claire Ryan said the four women bring a wealth of passion knowledge, experience and passion to the event. There is a past competitors, one who travels the country following off-road events, Patting us on the back YOU may have noticed last Fridays paper was an amazing 80 pages.
