Groote Eylandt's New Fishing Platform The all access fishing jetty is now open on Groote Eylandt. This project was 10 years in the making and was run by the Groote Eylandt Game & Sport Fishing Club. The facility provides a safe land based fishing opportunity for people of all ages and abilities. At the grand opening, Club President and AFANT Committee Member Terence "Bomber" Farrell was awarded lifetime membership of the Club. The honour came in recognition of Bomber's dedication and efforts in bringing together local businesses and individuals to complete the project. A huge crowd turned out to celebrate the opening of the new infrastructure which is already proving popular, especially with kids and families. View the current NLC Fishing Map
