The 33-year-old mechanic, who moved to Katherine with his partner last month, has won the second Katherine Times fuel voucher, at a value of $500. Im pretty stoked, the new Katherine resident said. We collected coupons from the paper, but I didnt get around to enter them until the very last day. My partner Kate didnt believe it when I told her we had won. Mr Winn said the couple was pretty happy about the fuel voucher - which will help them with their travel plans. We like to go on adventures on the weekends, camping and fishing, or visiting friends in Darwin. The voucher is great as we want to go to the Douglas River soon, And I still have my motorbike in Melbourne which I want to bring up to Katherine. Mr Winn said the couple would fill their cars fuel tank at least once a fortnight and winning the fuel voucher was fantastic. Cam Winn a winner in KT fuel comp CELEBRATING 23 years of short film excellence Flickerfest remains Australias leading short film festival - and it is set to bring its short film specials to Katherine this Saturday, March 15. With a smorgasbord of films from Australia and around the world, Katherine Cinema 3 is inviting locals and travellers alike to the prestigious short film festival, which is recognised amongst the best in the world. Over 2,300 entries were received for Flickerfest 2014, and only the top 120 shorts have been selected in official competition, all handpicked to repre sent the most innovative, creative and cutting edge short films being produced today. Among this years highlights is Vote Yes, a film set in May 1967, focusing on Australias referendum on Aboriginal rights. The movie stars Darwin-born actress Miranda Tapsell (pictured), who grew up in Kakadu National Park, and most recently starred alongside Jessica Mauboy in The Sapphires. Flickerfest will be in Katherine this Saturday, March 15, from .pm at Cinema 3. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 concession.
