Plans for the chapel were initially revealed early last year. There is parking space for 22 ordinary cars and 10 spaces for disabled car parking and a bus parking space, Mayor Ryan said. Local contractor ProBuild was awarded the tender. The garden cemetery opened in 1974 off the South Stuart Highway. It has enough space to be used for more than 200 years.
