A display room with tele vision screens and speakers, a kitchenette and artistic mural leads the $860,000 Alice Springs Town Council project, which has now started construction. The chapel is expected to cater for more than 70 funerals every year. Mayor Damien Ryan said it would give families with more convenience. The proposed chapel will provide Alice Springs families with an alternative to conduct funeral services, he said. The facility will have a sitting capacity of more than 100.
