St Philips College Page 6 Page 7Newsletter 2016 Year 8 Camp Spectacular locations in the Western MacDonnell Ranges National Park The Year 8, 3 day camp program focuses on an exciting range of activities in some of the most spectacular locations in the Western MacDonnell Ranges National Park. The camp also offers exposure to some of the skills and experiences offered on the nine day Year 9 Endeavour Camp. There were eight individual camp groups, two departing at each given separate time from the rest. Every single student and staff member who participated thoroughly enjoyed their time away. Year 8 campers were given the opportunity to participate in rock climbing, abseiling, conoeing and lots of outdoor water activities. There was never a minute wasted! Outdoor Education at St Philips College focuses on programs that develop self awareness, self esteem, leadership, communication skills, self confidence and a real belief in themselves and their abilities. We thank Mr Dave Atkins and all other staff members of the College who assisted with another successful Year 8 camp season.
