Page 2 December 2007 Tiwi Times Staffing Currently TITEB has 11 full time staff, 6 Tiwi and 5 non Tiwi. All staff are on unsubsidised award wages. We also have 4 part time Tiwi staff on CDEP. Depending on new contracts being negotiated for 2008 we may need 3 new staff members next year. Capital Infrastructure Funding of $160,000 has been approved to build a new accommodation block at Nguiu for lecturers. $460,000 has been approved to build the new centre at Pirlangimpi. Contracts have been signed with the builders to construct both of these facilities. Completion dates are late April 2008 Apprentices Through the TITEB group training company 94 Tiwi apprentices have now completed their apprenticeships. 65 are currently in training. We have identified 80 new positions for next year. See attached list for the current status of apprentices who have completed. Training 343 Tiwi students participated in training in 2007. National Audit We were audited in October against the new national standards for Registered Training Organisations which were implemented throughout Australia on the 1st July 2007. A follow up visit was made to Nguiu by the lead auditor on the 5th December. We have been found to comply with the new standards and have been reregistered to 2013. Money Business Our Money Business program is one of six pilots in the country. The team has broken all records in meeting their targets and Key Performance Indicators and they are setting the pace for the rest of Australia. Graduation 110 students graduated at our graduation ceremony in September. Summary of TITEB Activities in 2007
