This week we will be preparing for the festival- making our final few kites, bundling raffia for the garlands, and rolling chocolate balls for our special treat at the festival. The children love the buildup and anticipation- it feeds their souls with wonder and joy. They are proud of their work. They feel deep connection as community and notice the changes in nature around them. They are happily dancing and singing every morning about Lady Spring and the birds coming back- have you noticed the elegant bee-eaters are back again? Trudi Nordblom and I have met regularly to assist in a smooth transition for the children. She is looking forward to week 10, her first week as teacher of Cassia 2. On a personal note, it has been a pleasure to teach your children. How they have grown! We are amazed at the changes. I will remember this group for their lively abandonment in play and their easy joyfulness. Thank you for you support and openness as parents. Peace to you all. I look to teaching Cassia 2 again in 2016, after my long service leave in Europe. Love Susanne Class One Spring has well and truly sprung! The air is rich with the scent of orange blossom, the garden is full of beautiful flowers, the children are creative and inspired. We have had fun learning some new songs and dances in preparation for the spring festival bush dance next Thursday. Please ask your child to teach you some moves, such as the 'heel and toe' so you will be ready to jump up and dance too! This Friday we are very lucky to have a visiting archeologist and heritage officer joining us on our walk to big crystal mountain. We will then have the fabulous opportunity to learn more about Arrernte language and culture with Christobel and Jodie. Thank you to all the supportive families who help with these special activities. Also a big thank you to the wonderful knitting helpers Page 14 of 23Newsletter - Term 3 Week 9 7/03/2016http://us7.campaign-archive2.com/?u=6a6b0cfafebf2f5f89550f76c&id=d2475aceab&e...
