Major investments currently underway or in planning include: Palmerston Special School, $21.35 million Henbury School, $30 million Kintore School, $2.6 million Braitling Pre-school, $4 million Nhulunbuy Trade Training Centre, $1 million Ali Curung School, $1 million Currently there are fve tenders advertised with in the Alice Springs, Katherine and Nhulunbuy regions: Replace the ceiling of the early Childhood Unit at the Nhulunbuy Primary School Design and documentation of the Ramingining School Demolition of the Ramingining Pre-school facilities. Construction of a new administration building at the Kintore School Upgrade of the air conditioner at Ti Tree School, Block B These projects have an estimated combined value of over $4.6 million. Ramingining School In February 2015, Ramingining School was severely damaged by Tropical Cyclone Lam, closing the pre-school. To provide a temporary schooling facility, a large modular classroom, a modular kitchen and modular amenities were installed in April 2015. The tenders currently advertised will see the demolition of the existing pre-school at Ramingining School for the design of a new facility. It is anticipated that the new school facility will be fnished September 2016.
