Installation of the basic rainfall and water instrumentation in 1962. The instrument were checked, additional equipment was installed in the catchments for conversion of stream water levels to discharges. The whole of the reconnaissance and installation operation was performed on day trips from Alice Springs as a base. The aim was to obtain basic data on rainfall - runoff relations on homogenous arid zone catchments covering a wide range of topography. And to determine whether there is a connection between rainfall - run-off relations and the classification of landscape into the land systems used by the Division of Land Research and Regional Survey., Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT).,
