Coach Charters has been conducting regular passenger transport services for Defence for more than five years, Minister Styles said. It is now the carrier of choice thanks to its reputation for flexibility, reliability and commitment to meet the Defence requirements. Coach Charters Australia has invested heavily in equipment and infrastructure to increase its capability and capacity to support Defence, including opening a new headquarters in Humpty Doo. It has also expanded into freighting and developed its customer base to include US Marines, US Navy and various other visiting foreign forces. A Special Recognition Award was presented to Crowhurst Engineering for its tireless work to develop its workforce, particularly apprentices, by working with schools to transition local students into apprenticeships. Crowhurst Engineering is a long-term Northern Territory small business that has been providing products and services to Defence for the past seven years. The two-day 3rd Northern Australia Defence Summit will wrap up this afternoon.
