Traditionally a pair of Guardian Lions are placed at the entrance to buildings. The male is placed on the left of the doorway with a paw resting a 'ball' representing the 'Flower of Life', (as depicted in this photo). The female is placed to the right of the doorway with a paw on a 'cub' representing the 'Cycle of Life'.,
