20 AnnuAl RepoRt 201314 2.2 insurabLe risK The agency does not take out commercial insurance against the risk of damage to its physical assets or the risk of economic or physical injury to a person. The agency has a risk management framework to assist in identifying, managing and minimising risks. In accordance with Treasurers Direction M2.1, Insurance Arrangement, the agency self-insures its risks and meets costs as they emerge. The categories covered by the agencys self-insurance arrangements, mitigation strategies and processes employed to reduce the risk for each category, and the total number, value and average cost of self-insurance claims are as follows: Insurable risk category Mitigation strategies Total number/total value of claims Public liability formal risk assessments completed repairs and maintenance program to reduce risks associated with physical activities ongoing review of practices and procedures to ensure public safety appropriate signage education campaigns for staff and public independent reviews. No claims Workers compensation formal risk assessments completed work health and safety framework developed and implemented workplace safety policies and standard operating procedures work site assessments job-specific training and support employee Assistance Program early intervention profile critical incident debriefings work-life balance. four claims totalling $3516 (average $879) Assets and inventories all formal risk assessment completed ongoing review of policies and practices to guide standard operating procedures to protect assets and inventories. Nil Buildings building audits: security, maintenance and compliance appropriate security and testing: fire systems, alarms, patrols and staff repairs and maintenance and minor new works program.
