V1 - SUBE01Z01MA Leanyer proves most popular suburb for property hunters LEANYER is the clickbait of Top End suburbs this year, attracting the most people looking per listing on website realestate.com.au. According to realestate. com.aus Top Sellers Markets, the established northern suburb was the most popular in the quarter from December 2014 to February 2015, followed by Howard Springs, Rapid Creek and Fannie Bay. The data showed Leanyer moved from fifth spot last quarter to take out first place this quarter. Interestingly, inner-city hotspot Parap dropped off the list, while its neighbouring suburb, Fannie Bay, moved up from sixth to fourth spot. Longtime Leanyer resident Inacio Moura said he was not surprised buyers wanted to move to his suburb. Mr Moura has lived in the same house since 1987. My family grew up in this house, Mr Moura said. Leanyer is a great family suburb. Everyone is friendly and looks out for each other. Its close to schools, shops, the pub, and theres a pool close by. Call2View Real Estates Adam Hayes said Leanyer was a well-established, leafy area compared to other suburbs drawing large crowds. Leanyer is so affordable compared to more rural areas, such as Howard Springs, Mr Hayes said. It offers large block sizes, while being so close to the city. Leanyer also attracted many first-home buyers, investors looking for units and houses, and buyers looking to upgrade. This northern area attracts quite a mixed demographic, Mr Hayes said. Everything is within a fiveminute drive schools, shopping centres, parks, hospitals, as well as our fantastic beaches and fishing spots. Inacio Moura loves living in Leanyer.
